Tom has been working in the disability, mental health, education and homelessness sectors in various roles for the past 20 years including a lot of interaction with the justice sector. Beginning as a Support Worker he has since worked in Residential settings, as an Outreach worker, in Respite Care roles, as a Supporting Connections worker, and as an Educator in Special Development Schools. Tom is a pragmatic and passionate believer in the Positive Behaviour Support model and is an excellent verbal and written communicator. His qualifications include a Health Sciences degree (majoring in psychology and disability studies) and a graduate diploma of teaching. Tom has a great sense of humour, brings a humanist approach within a foundation of psycho-analytic thinking into every interaction and reflects deeply on his own practice.
